Some time in early December I realised that this winter is my chance to get a lot of sleep and to still get up before sunrise, what with the sun rising so very late. I tried to hunt down pink and otherwise wonderful sunrises but was, in fact, not very successful with that. This is the only really lovely sunrise I managed to capture, and as you can imagine, it wasn’t even half as pink as I made it (my mother colour was a rather vibrant and not very toned-down light magenta). I like how it turned out but I also think that I’ll do it again in a more low chroma version. Below are two progress shots.

Irgendwann im Dezember wurde mir klar, dass die Winterzeit ja die Gelegenheit schlechthin ist, lange zu schlafen und trotzdem noch vor Sonnenaufgang auf den Beinen zu sein. Von da an war ich häufiger in der Morgendämmerung unterwegs, um Sonnenaufgänge zu malen oder zu fotografieren – mit ganz geringem Erfolg. Dieser Sonnenaufgang ist der einzig richtige schöne gewesen, und natürlich war er nur halb so pink wie in diesem Bild (die Hauptfarbe fürs gesamte Bild war ein nicht sehr abgetöntes leicht aufgehelltes Magenta gewesen). Ich find’s eigentlich schön, werde aber auf jeden Fall auch noch mal eine Version mit geringerer Farbigkeit (mehr grau) versuchen.
