This blog post is a bit of a walk down memory lane for me. Last year I went on a painting journey to a little town on the coast. I was sick for part of the week (this seems to be a pattern for me – go away to paint and be sick straight away) and for several reasons sort of struggled with being there in the second half. I’m still not sure that maritime subjects do it for me. Thankfully, you can always turn your back to all the boats and seagulls and so on and paint the coastal hinterland (amazing skies!). Or the villages and towns. This little scene here is from the town I staid in, Greetsiel.
