This is my sweetheart working from home. It’s the usual way of things chez Gillands: I sit at my desk or sit/stand at my easel, he is sitting on the sofa all comfortable reading, thinking and typing on his computer. It always amazes me how quiet it is in the flat when we are both here working like this. We really don’t talk much except at lunchtime and then again towards the evening when we proceed to do other necessary things around the house or outside. I love this peaceful working aspect of my home life! It’s also great that hubby is more or less stationary and captive for long periods of time when he is working. He is the ideal life drawing model for me. Unsurprisingly, I have countless sketches of him sitting more or less like this 🙂
Heute mal eine Zeichnung von meinem Schatz im home office. Jetzt gerade sitzt er auch gemütlich auf dem Sofa und liest, denkt nach und tippt auf dem Laptop, während ich am Schreibtisch sitze und hier herumtippe oder an der Staffelei male. So läuft es hier oft ab, und ich bin immer ganz erstaunt, wie viele Stunden lang es so ruhig abgeht mit uns beiden in der kleinen Wohnung. Es ist dann ganz still, man hört nur die Tippgeräusche oder das Klingen von Pinseln gegen das Wasserglas. Um die Mittagszeit herum quatschen wir dann ein wenig, dann geht jeder wieder seinen Beschäftigungen nach. Gegen Abend erst wird es etwas lebendiger zu Hause, weil wir dann Sport machen oder andere Dinge erledigen. Ich mag dieses Ruhige und Harmonische in meinem Zuhause. Ich finde es auch praktisch, dass ich in meinem Mann ein ideales Modell zum Zeichnen habe, weil er ja immer so lange und stetig in derselben Position verharrt. Über die Jahre habe ich echt schon viele Skizzen von ihm gezeichnet!
