Vor ein paar Wochen habe ich angefangen, meine Eindrücke beim Berufspendeln festzuhalten. Das heißt, einige der Dinge, die ich früh am Morgen und spät am Abend sehe, tauchen nun auf meinen Bildern auf. Dies hier ist früh am Morgen gewesen. Es war diesig und dieses kleine Bäumchen stand sehr hübsch auf dem Hügel. Da ich im Zug viel Zeitung lese, passt der Untergrund schon. Allerdings ist es etwas ungünstig, Schnittkanten durchs Bild laufen zu haben. Das würde ich in Zukunft vermeiden. Auch interessant: Dies ist mit Gouache angefertigt und dann mit Sprühlack (für Gouache) lackiert. Kann ich nur empfehlen, funktioniert prima!
A few weeks ago I started committing to my memory (via photos mostly) the lovely scenery I see from the train whilst commuting. This means that some of my early morning or late evening impressions now find their way into my paintings. This one here I saw early in the morning. It was a hazy and bright morning and this wee tree stood there on the hill very prettily. Since I always read the paper on the train, the background is sort of suitable. Then again I don’t really appreciate the paper edge running directly through the centre of the painting. I’d do that differently in future. You might find tis interesting: this is a gouache painting and I put spray varnish on it. First time for me (the varnish) but works really well!
