Der gestrige Tag stand ganz im Zeichen der Kuh: ich bin durchs Land gefahren, um Kühe zu zeichnen und zu fotografieren. Das ist mir trotz schaurigen Wetters auch gelungen. Zu Hause pfrimel ich jetzt an Kuhbildern herum. Aus Sentamentalität und weil mir mein heiß geliebtes Schottland gerade wirklich fehlt, habe ich gestern abend Hochlandrinder gemalt. Schottische, versteht sich. Dabei sind sie mir so richtig ans Herz gewachsen, und ich merke, ich muss noch mehr von ihnen malen. War auch nicht das erste Mal, dass ich mich an diese Dreiergruppe gemacht habe, aber diesmal eben in Öl. Das Foto ist leider etwas unscharf; sobald sie trocken sind, scanne ich sie ein.

Yesterday was a topical day, its topic having been cows. Yes. I love cows and so I sat in my little red car and drove through the fields in search of a bunch of them. I found some, many in fact, made a few drawings and took photos so that I can work on compositions with cows at home (I can’t say ‚in my studio‘ unfortunately). In the evening I remembered those lovely Scottish cows, or coos in Scots, which I had painted before, and so I spontaneously did them again in a different composition and medium. And I think I’ll have to do more of them. Because cows are great fun! The photo sadly is a bit blurry; as soon as the painting is dry I’ll scan them cows and post them again.
