Dies ist ein altes Schulhaus in den Smokey Mountains. Bis in die 1930er hinein wurde dort unterrichtet, dann wurde der Nationalpark errichtet und der Schulbetrieb musste eingestellt werden. Ein herrlicher Ort! Hinter dem Hüttchen fließt ein kleiner Bach. Damals waren die Bäume wohl noch nicht so groß und es wohnten viele Familien auf den umliegenden Hügeln. Heute steht das Haus mitten im Wald und weit und breit ist keine Menschenseele zu sehen.
This is an old school building in the Smokey Mountains. It was used as a school up until the 1930s when the national park was founded. A magical place! Right behind the house is a little breek. Back then the trees weren’t quite so tall, I suppose, and the surrounding hills were inhabited by many families. Today the house stands all alone in the vast forest, and there is no soul or house in sight for miles and miles.
