Last week, my painting buddy Sigrid and I went out to catch what we thought was the last warm day. We drove to the river Elbe to a spot that neither of us had ever been to and we discovered, if that’s not too big a word, this particular river spot for us. I felt so blessed standing there in the warm sun painting away (munching on a yummy sandwich too – good times)! The river was very calm, almost pristinely so, the bees were buzzing around us, and butterflies came to sot with us every now and then, feeding on the nutritious silt sediments of the river. Blissful! I took home with me this here painting and a tiny bit of a sunburn, but that was ok. I later on tried another version of this in the studio, but I don’t think the second one is as successful as the first one.

2. Version, 30 x 40 cm.

Vielleicht fehlt da noch was?
